Purple City

Some mornings can feel like there are wi-fi alien death rays let loose all over the place. But then something like this will pop up and I get a global village feeling all of a sudden. Who had any idea that Rosie O'Donnell communicated all her various joys, loves, and insecurities in such an evocative poetic form. Not I! No 3+ word sentence is free from some sort of structural embellishment. It's holding me hostage and I'm getting some stockholm syndrome and here come the death rays againnnnnn.....

Also, I've seen a certain band called Sic Alps a few times in the last few months but have too chickenshizz to ask them if I could put up a few of their songs. It's kind of on the 70's cleveland/velvet/ death rays/50million4track/echobox tip and it's some of my favorite sound that I've heard coming out of here recently. There have been some line-up changes and some prominent guest stars (hospitals, erase errata, weasel walter) but now it's Mike Donovan (Big Techno Werewolves, Ropers,NAM) and Matt Hartman (Henry's Dress, Coachwhips, Cat Power) which means it's a couple of stone age san francisco longhairs who have figured it out hatching some syrrupy lethargic dark guitar psychedelia (lowercase grunge). Also, the internet says they are putting out a couple of records soon, one of which is on this label and that is good news for everybody.
Sic Alps- Down comes the Perm
Sic Alps- Surgeon and the Slave

OH P.S. I found an old WFMU recording of them. It's pretty good. the internet is great
