Making of Glasser's "Apply" 12"

You may have read us tweeting and bloggin' about how beautiful the Glasser "Apply" 12" looks, but I think this video by Winston Case finally gets across 1) how special it is 2) what a tremendous pain in the butt it is to assemble. A big group of people got together to make these things and we're proud as punch, also very grateful to Mr. Winston Case for being there to document the process and do such a wonderful job presenting it.

You can get the Glasser- Apply 12" HERE from us.

Feel It Feel It Feel It

So a couple of days ago our friend Hannah was looking through her mom's garage and found this classic little recital from the Marin County Day School Hip Hop Class. You can find Hannah in the sensible yellow shirt and jeans jam that sets her aside from the spandex overload. This is probably my favorite video on youtube right now. Choreography to inspire the ages.

Love Comes Close

To say I was obsessed with Cold Cave before hearing their full album wouldn't be true. I've really appreciated their explorations in an era of music that came and went before I was born, that I've gotten down with at Weird Records night, etc. especially when glimmers of melody shone through the gauze pads. That said, their album is incredible. Everyone should own it. Everyone should cherish and listen to it over and over and over. Emotionally resonant, cold but still beautiful music with SONGS- shining glimmering machine-made melodies like Hal getting up and out bursting his little computer heart and shooting electronic blood all over space.

Life Magazine is the song of the summer.

Good Frikkin Chicken

What an amazing weekend. Thanks to Girls for blowing us away 3 days in a row. Started the day Michael Jackson died, first night an homage, driving around listening on every station. Getting lost, thinking the van was stolen, covers galore, 15 people to Bushwick at 4am, belle and Sebastian collection, This Mortal Coil, ending up at vinny's 3 hours late of course.

Here's a clip from the last show, at the Cake Shop, covering Vivian Girls with Vivian Girlz watching over and smiling in the back.
