Party Music!

First of all let's deal with the fact that Omar Souleyman has released about 500 live and studio albums and is unreally famous in Syria yet Sublime Frequencies is yet carry this gemstone through fog and mud to put into our hands. It's funny putting the music in a little pigeon-hole but this is the most ultimate party music I've heard for some time. In the same way that Konono or Ali Hassan Kuban can get thrown into a music geek/experimental flip out paradigm we have to remember that these dudes originally started to make their party LIVE whether it be a wedding, funeral, or just a "put some food on a plate, listen to some tunes in the parking lot" kind of thing. With that in mind, Omar (and his longtime collaborator, Mahmoud Harbi) come through so fucking hard I have visions of DJ Assault and Nelson Mandela sneaking little bits of extra BBQ and hugging at the World Party
All of the components are there....the relentless seriously RELENTLESS beat, topped off by freeform rambling poetics partytime incantations and possessed pitch-shifted keyboard shredding, UN-STOP-PABLE.
Omar Souleyman- Leh Jani (When I Found Out)
Omar Souleyman- Alkhatiba Zaffouh (They're Celebrating My Fiancee's Wedding)
and bring it home with this beautiful jam.....
Omar Souleyman- Atabat

NOT EVEN TALKING ABOUT MAKING IT RAIN IN THE FIRST FEW SECONDS OF THE VIDEO!!!
